Fears and Faith
“Then Moses said to the LORD,
“Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent,
neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant;
for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”
The LORD said to him,
“Who has made man’s mouth?
Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind?
Is it not I, the LORD?
“Now then go,
and I, even I,
will be with your mouth, and
teach you what you are to say.”
You called Moses to an important task. He recognized You, yet his fears came to the surface. When he shared his fears and frailties with You, You reminded him that You already knew everything there is to know about him and the situation, and You are sovereign over all. I recognize myself within Moses’ story.
Forgive me when I let my fears overshadow my faith.
Rather than look at my failures and inadequacies, help me to focus on Your will and simply be obedient to it. Help me to have such faith that You can accomplish Your will, that I will not question how, but simply be a willing and obedient servant.
Thank You for using even me when I doubt my ability.
Thank You for equipping me when I am inadequate.
Thank You for remaining faithful to be with me, even when I doubt.
Thank You for loving me, even when I allow my fears to rule over my faith.
May I have a fearless faith that You can accomplish Your will, even with me.
I pray in Jesus’ name,
