Live to please Him

“Therefore, being always of good courage,

and knowing that while we are at home in the body

we are absent from the Lord

— for we walk by faith, not by sight—

we are of good courage, I say, and

prefer rather to be absent from the body and

to be at home with the Lord.

Therefore we also have as our ambition,

whether at home or absent,

to be pleasing to Him.”

2 Corinthians 5:6-9

Most gracious heavenly Father,

I eagerly await the time I will be with You for all eternity.

You have given such precious promises about my life in the future

that give me courage and stamina for the days I have left here.

Thank You for giving me a glimpse into Heaven while I am still on Earth. By faith, I will leave here and arrive there according to Your timing.

Meanwhile, let my life be pleasing to You. May I display strength and courage that reflect my faith in You, no matter the circumstance I face today. I will hold fast to You through all my remaining days, with complete faith that I am in good hands.

I pray in Jesus’ name,
