The Secret to Contentment

“But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly,

that now at last you have revived your concern for me;

indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity.

Not that I speak from want,

for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.

I know how to get along with humble means,

and I also know how to live in prosperity;

in any and every circumstance

I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry,

both of having abundance and suffering need.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

Philippians 4:10-13

Dear Father in heaven,

You indeed strengthen me and supply all I need to serve You.  Worry, stress, distractions come when I forget to focus on my true goal – to serve You. Forgive me when I loose my focus on You and look to the situation around me.

Today I look up to see You at work, in control and sovereign over all, confident You are working things together for my good!

Today I look up to ask You for direction before I take any step, confident You will hear and guide me.

Today I look up to listen to Your counsel before I speak about any matter, confident You will give me the words that speak of You.

I pray in Jesus’ name,

Amen.
